Here at The Goodness Company, we’re certified art aficionados (we also believe everyone secretly is) and as such the upcoming edition of Art Dubai was on our to-do list for months. However, with the current pandemic of COVID-19, we’re looking at alternative ways to enjoy the creative offerings of regional and international artists from the comfort of our own homes. Here are our top three picks.
Art Dubai
While the official Art Dubai fair has been postponed the juggernaut of creative vision that has become a go-to for art connoisseurs is pummeling forward with a programme specifically tailored to the local cultural community including existing fair programme contributors and thought-leaders. These will include local and regional gallery presentations, Global Art Forum, Residents and Campus Art Dubai. While these are the physical activations in place, the Art Dubai Website is a haven of content where one can browse more than 500 artworks by the represented artists from Art Dubai, filter selections according to your specified criteria and place purchase inquiries directly with the galleries. Visit Art Dubai’s Portraits page for some exceptional content.
Al Serkal Avenue
While physically moving between the old-world cinema that showcases independent and contemporary film, the many galleries and eclectic cafes that makeup Al Serkal Avenue is indeed an experience. This hub of creative movement and conscious thought is focusing its efforts for the coming weeks on creating a new digital experience. Frequent visitors of Dubai’s art district can now expect to be visually stimulated via the website's upcoming news, exhibitions and artist profiles. PROART Gallery
This unpretentious gallery located at Palm Strip Mall, Dubai, has something for everyone. Offering both contemporary artists and revered modern masters of multiple mediums, the spirit of art is emphasized with a constantly exciting curation of works. Expect to find Picasso, Dali, Warhol paired with more affordable (nonetheless exciting) works by street artists, photographers and sculptors. Thankfully, the celebrated gallery that has over 200 artists from 80 countries has an intricately curated digital platform where one can browse, learn and view what is on offer.
