Is Copper Healthy?
There’s a reason we have a special selection of products dedicated solely to copper and it isn’t just because copper is visually appealing. No, in fact in one of our earlier Journal posts we looked at the many health benefits of this naturally occurring metal and today, we’re delving deeper into the endless plethora of benefits that it has to offer, in a time when health & wellness is our number one priority now more than ever.
Copper & COVID-19
Scientists from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the U.S National Institutes of Health have examined the ability of the virus to survive on a range of mediums from air, copper and stainless steel to cardboard and plastic. Copper products had the shortest survival time of four hours with half of the virus becoming inactivated within 46 minutes. The virus lasts the longest on plastic at six hours and forty-nine minutes.
Copper in Ayurveda
Ayurvedic practitioners have long championed the belief that copper possesses the ability to rid the body of toxins. Indeed copper exhibits antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal properties that have been scientifically proven to continuously kill more than 99.9% of the microbes that cause infections within two hours of contact. Copper in Cell Renewal
Drinking water out of Copper Bottles is known to aid in cell renewal primarily as copper is the main component of melanin ( a pigment in the body that determines the colour of your eyes, hair and skin) which means not only does drinking water stored in a copper vessel keep you feeling your best, it also helps you look your best. Melanin aided by copper also helps skin to recover from sun damage, scars and wounds.
